Brothers,

I would like to start my first Chief’s Bonnet by thanking everyone for their support. I’m really looking forward to this year and am hoping that it will be one to remember. I would also like to congratulate all of the new ordeal members that were inducted at this past Summer Service Weekend, as well as all of those who sealed their membership and received their brotherhood.

In this Bonnet I would like to discuss one of the main aspects of the Order of the Arrow, brotherhood. If anyone wishes to have a fun and enriching experience in the Order of the Arrow, then they need brotherhood. Many may wonder how they can fulfil this part of our obligation, and I am here to tell you that the best way, is to get involved in a committee that interests you. There, you will develop close bonds with those that you work with, and with these bonds of brotherhood, you will make friends that will last a lifetime. By making these bonds with your brothers, cheerfully serving and doing the tasks that you find most interesting, you find your place in our lodge, and once you find your place, all of the joys of the Order come out. Then, much of what the order stands for will make much more sense, especially the brotherhood aspect. There are many committees to choose from, ranging from Ceremonies, Museum, Food Service, Spirit, Dance, Health Services, and many more, and all it takes, is for you to find that one that fits you. With this being said, find your place in the Order, this will help you immensely in your commitment of brotherhood, made in our obligation. Thank you and once again I am looking forward to a great year, I hope to see you all at the Fall Service Weekend.

Yours in Brotherhood,
Ryan McNeilly
