Chief's Bonnet: February 2019

Brothers,

I am glad to announce that it is 2019. Let our year of celebration begin. We are a hundred years strong and I see a hundred more to come. We have until the middle of February to finish our unit elections. We need to make one last push to get as many elections complete as possible. With this momentum, we should try to get everyone we can to the Spring Service weekend. We will be preparing for Conclave over the next two months. Remember Conclave is just around the corner, so don’t forget to sign up. We are currently leading the section in signups, with the goal of making this Conclave the biggest one yet. We will be working on setting up for Conclave during Spring Service weekend and also during the Lodge's three service days scheduled for everyone to come out and help.  Those dates are April 6, 13, and 20. So let’s put all our hands together to make this Conclave amazing.

In Your Service,

Preston Wright, Lodge Chief

Chief's Bonnet: Fall Service/ Fellowship 2018

My Brothers,

If you haven’t registered for Fall Fellowship you still have time!

This is a great time to celebrate our year, recognize special individuals that have made a difference, hear of the upcoming news for the year and the 100 year celebration “Conclave”.  This Fall Fellowship we have a new Supreme Chief of Fire, George McGovern, who will address the lodge at the Feast. With the cancelation of Fall Service weekend due to Florence, we will have a “twist” into Fall Fellowship.  We will combine our Fall Fellowship with Ordeal and Brotherhood. This is not the first time we’ve had to combine our Fall Fellowship with cheerful service.

Brothers,

Spring has sprung in Central Virginia and in Nawakwa Lodge.  After an incredible Spring Service Weekend in March, Nawakwa Lodge has also thundered towards Conclave with a strong showing at Camp Rock Enon.  If you are one of our Lodge's Conclave attendees this year, please tell everyone how great it was.  With the shows, the food, the training, the competitions, and everything else offered at Conclave, there is never a dull moment.  If you did not attending Conclave, well then I hope to see you there in 2019 when Nawakwa Lodge hosts our Centennial.

Chief's Bonnet, Fall 2018

Brothers,
I hope all of you are all enjoying your summers and enjoying your down time.  I want to congratulate all of the new Arrowmen that have recently completed their Induction into the Ordeal of the Arrow.  Welcome to the Brotherhood, we look forward to serving with you.  Secondly, I want to thank all my Brothers for electing me to be your Centennial Chief, it is truly an honor and I look forward to continuing growing the Lodge.  I am looking forward to serving all of you.  In the upcoming year I see us having fun and fellowship as a lodge with different activities during Conclave and Fall Fellowship.

Brothers,

We are already off to a great start in 2018, our 99th year as a lodge! Our lodge events, Conclave, and LLD are going to be a blast for us.

The Spring Service Weekend will once again see us descend upon Camp T. Brady Saunders to participate in cheerful service - and yes, we will be holding the service weekend on the Boy Scout Side of the reservation.

Conclave at Camp Rock Enon will be an excellent opportunity to meet Arrowmen from across Virginia, enjoy training from some of the Section's most seasoned leaders, and get to play and eat our hearts out. To find out more on Conclave, check out sr7a.org or speak with another Arrowmen who has attended before. If you'd like, you can even ask me about Conclave at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Registration is at the link below:
