Greeting to all members of the Nawakwa Lodge, As the new Scout Executive for the Heart of Virginia Council, I look forward to working with all of you.

I have worked with the Lodge Leadership in two other councils and also worked with the Section Leadership when I was the Deputy for the Southern Region in Florida. I was fortunate to get my Vigil while serving in the Middle Tennessee Council when Ray Capp was there before he became involved Nationally and became Chairman of the Order of the Arrow.

I believe our OA Lodge has a special role for service and leadership in the council and beyond our boundaries. In this day and age where leadership and character are looked at not only in high school but in college and throughout your life, the skills and training you receive by being a part of this National Honor Society will help you in your life.

You will also meet great mentors in your chapters and in the lodge. These dedicated adult volunteers are here to help you succeed by passing on their wisdom and guidance. Please make sure you ask these leader for their wisdom and insight.

Finally, as a member of this Lodge, we are here to help our Scouting units succeed.

To help grow our programs and retain more youth. It is about servant leadership. Let's go out with a joyful service attitude and give every youth who joins our program the opportunity to stay in the BSA and become a future member of the Nawakwa Lodge.
