In preparation for its upcoming Centennial celebration, Nawakwa Lodge 3, the Heart of Virginia Council and part of the SR-7A in the Southern Region, is represented in the Southern Hemisphere at McMurdo Station, a U.S. Antarctic research center in Antarctica on the south tip of Ross Island, which is in the New Zealand-claimed Ross Dependency on the shore of McMurdo Sound in Antarctica. Vigil Honor member Timothy P. Lynch of Nawakwa Lodge displays a miniature version of the Nawakwa Lodge flag and several Lodge flaps in what is believed to be the most southern point any Order of the Arrow Lodge has ever been on land mass.
