July 24, 2016

Brothers,

Hope your summer is going well.  As summer camp season is wrapping up and we are heading into the fall season, we are actively planning our Fall Service Weekend and our annual Fall Fellowship.  We have some great service opportunities in the works and from what I hear, some pretty awesome Fall Fellowship plans in the works to make our Fall activities exciting.  I hope to see all of our brothers in attendance and as volunteers at both fall events. Remember, this is your lodge and it is only as strong as those willing to make it great.  See the registration links in this edition of the Tom-Tom and SIGN UP Today!!
Please take a look at a couple events outlined later in this edition, which took place over these past few months that have truly inspired me with the level of cheerful service those listed individuals gave above and beyond when it truly needed to be done; Thank you for being the leaders we need and for being willing to step up and get things done.  It is greatly appreciated.

I would like to take a moment and congratulate our 2016-2017 Lodge Officers, Trey, Kevin, Noah and Kyle.  Best wishes for a great year and I look forward to working with them to continue our legacy.
A special thank you to outgoing Lodge Chief Ryan McNeilly for a special year.  The things he did to make the lodge a better place for every arrowmen will be realized for years to come, especially with his leadership and diligence in getting the new Lodge OA High Adventure Scholarship established and seeing through the awarding of the first scholarship to Nolan Zunk who attended OAHA Philmont Trail Crew this summer.  You can read more about Nolan’s experiences at Philmont in this edition as well as how to submit an application for the 2017 Nawakwa Lodge OAHA Scholarship.
And lastly, by the time you are reading this edition, our Lodge would have sent a small contingent of Arrowmen to the University of Indiana to participate in the National NEXT: A New Century event. Be sure to read about the event in this edition and we hope to provide a supplemental article telling you about all the great things that happened while we were there as this edition will be published while we are in the midst of the event.
As always, our Lodge continues its journey to excellence by improving our program, membership and funding.  This is only possible because we are able to stand firmly on the solid foundations our brothers before us have provided through their unselfish dedication, hard work and cheerful spirit… our future is bright because of this legacy and I look forward to working with each of you in the years ahead to ensure we build a lasting legacy for the next generations of brothers.  Be sure to volunteer to help at one of the upcoming events; you’re service is greatly needed!!   Hope to see everyone at the September Service Weekend.

In Brotherhood,

Michael W. Lynch
