Spring Events Update

We have come to the unfortunate, but necessary, decision to CANCEL the SPRING INDUCTION WEEKEND and CANCEL SPRING TRAIL CREW due to the unfolding COVID-19 pandemic situation.  We have been in consultation with the Council leadership, and we are in complete agreement with their decision to cancel our and other upcoming events through April 12th. In addition, Southern Region 7A has decided to POSTPONE CONCLAVE (new date Oct 2-4) as well as the POSTPONE INDUCTIONS AND CEREMONIES SUMMIT (new date Aug 28-30).

If you are registered for the Spring Induction Weekend, you will automatically be registered for the Summer Induction Weekend (May 29-31) (CANCELLED). If you are unable to make the May event and wish to cancel your registration, a full refund will be allowed, but you MUST independently notify This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. that you wish to cancel and that you want a full refund (provide your name, unit, and Chapter). Anyone who registered for the Spring Trail Crew event will be receiving a full refund of their paid fees. If you are an annual pass holder, we would be grateful if you would consider the missed event a donation to the Lodge, but if you need to have one event refunded, you may also contact the registration team as above and request a refund.

We hope that you all will continue to Be Prepared to support your families, friends, and community.  Thank you all for your patience and understanding, but more importantly, thank you for your support.  Please be careful and be safe in these coming weeks.

The Richmond Nativity Pageant

A holiday tradition continues. After a couple of years on hiatus, the Richmond Nativity Pageant is back in business. The main change is the location. Once an annual event at the Carillon near Byrd Park, it is now being held at the Scottish Rite Temple in Richmond.

The Order of the Arrow is being asked once again by the community to help staff this production. We will need 30-40 volunteers that are willing to make a commitment for service time on December 21 and December 22 in preparation and the execution of the Richmond Nativity Pageant.

On December 21, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., there will be a rehearsal at the Scottish Rite Temple located at 4204 Hermitage Road in Richmond. We will designate which volunteers will help with set movement, a welcoming committee, and those helping with traffic control.

Then on December 22, the same volunteers need to return to the Scottish Rite Temple to conduct another rehearsal beginning at 4:00 p.m., just before the actual performance beginning at 7:00 p.m., and concluding about 8:30 p.m. Arrowmen are asked to be in Class A uniform (without OA sash) for this event.

Because we are now indoors for this event, there is no rain date required as in the past. More information about the pageant can be found on the Pageant's website at http://richmondnativitypageant.com. Any questions can be forwarded to This email address is being protected from spambots. The Christmas holiday is a time of giving. What better way, the OA way, to serve our community than with our service.

Albright Trail Shelter #2

The Albright Trail Shelter #2 is DONE!

This shelter can be found at Albright Boy Scout Reservation in Chesterfield County, and is part of the "Albright Trail" - providing an experience similar to that of hiking the Appalachian Trail. Along with hiking, many also spend a night or two in various Adirondack-style shelters, like these shelters at Albright.

See many photos of its development (as well as Shelter #1!) at nawakwatrails.org
